Zoning Proposals
The Hollywood-North Park Community Association convenes public meetings about zoning proposals in our neighborhood. This provides neighborhood residents with direct access to information and the ability to ask questions of property owners about their plans. We then survey our members and describe the range of opinions for the Alderman's office. The Alderman then typically decides whether or not to support a zoning proposal. With Aldermanic support, a proposed zoning change is more likely to earn City Council approval.
The most recent zoning issues to have come before the Association include the following. You can click on each link for details.

The design above illustrates the currently proposed plan for 3244-50 W. Bryn Mawr. A zoning change was approved in 2020 contingent upon the restoration of the existing terra cotta facade. After long delays, the property owner had a demolition and a construction permit as of August 2025, but financing was not secured. He is requesting permission to build an additional floor (compared to the proposal accepted originally in 2019) as of April 2026. He believes this will allow him to secure financing to build the project.
